Abstract

The article investigates the synergistic effect of La and Sb on the eutectic silicon and mechanical properties in multi-element hypoeutectic Al–Si alloys. It highlights the refinement and modification of eutectic silicon, leading to improved mechanical performance. The study delves into the nucleation and growth mechanisms of eutectic silicon, showing how La and Sb work together to enhance the alloy's microstructure and fracture modes. The results demonstrate a significant increase in tensile strength and elongation, making this research valuable for industries seeking to improve the performance of aluminum alloys.
