Synthesis and characterization of mercaptoacetic acid/lead sulfide inorganic/organic nanocomposite

Abstract

Mercaptoacetic acid lead sulfide (PbS) nanocomposites with different morphologies was synthesized via reaction between Pb(C2O4), thiourea and mercaptoacetic acid as Pb2+, sulfur source and shape controller were synthesized by hydrothermal methods. The effects of reaction temperature and time, solution pH, and surfactant on morphologies of as-synthesized product were investigated. The structure and morphology of obtained products were characterized by using XRD, FTIR and field emission scanning electron microscopy. A supposed formation mechanism of PbS micro and nanocomposites was discussed based on their shape evolutions.
