Abstract

The article delves into the synthesis and characterization of a new Gemini surfactant, LF, using phthalic anhydride and fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether. The surfactant shows exceptional surface activity with a low critical micelle concentration (CMC) of 26 mg/L and a surface tension of 30.26 mN/m. Furthermore, LF exhibits excellent oil-water interfacial tension reduction, zeta potential modification, and viscosity reduction capabilities. Its oil washing efficiency reaches 84.64% and core permeability recovery rate of 94.23%. These findings highlight the potential of LF in enhancing near-well reservoir performance and mitigating pollution in oil and gas fields.
