Abstract

This chapter delves into cutting-edge system-level techniques for managing wireless energy efficiently and securely in both biomedical and authentication applications. It highlights the integration of cryptographic techniques and energy management solutions in wireless authentication tags to combat counterfeiting and ensure secure communication. The text explores the use of nonvolatile flip-flops powered by ferroelectric capacitors to maintain secure cryptographic operations even during power interruptions. Additionally, it presents an energy-reuse back telemetry method that significantly improves efficiency in wireless power and data transfer systems for medical implants. The chapter also introduces an adaptive supply wireless stimulation system for deep brain stimulation, which dynamically adjusts power supply voltage to optimize energy usage and safety. Furthermore, it discusses a reconfigurable bidirectional wireless power and data transceiver that enables full-duplex communication and synchronized data recovery.
