Abstract

The article delves into the critical issue of frequency regulation in microgrids (MGs), which are becoming increasingly important due to the integration of renewable energy sources. It introduces a novel approach using teaching learning optimization (TLBO) to design sliding mode control (SMC) for frequency stability. The research highlights the challenges of intermittent energy sources and load disturbances, and how the proposed TLBO-based SMC outperforms traditional methods and other nature-inspired optimization algorithms. The study validates the approach through extensive simulations, demonstrating superior performance in frequency stabilization under various conditions. The article concludes with suggestions for future research, emphasizing the potential of advanced control strategies for reliable and sustainable energy management in modern power systems.
