Zusammenfassung

Der Beitrag befasst sich mit verschiedenen Arten und Weisen, in denen Wirklichkeit und Animation miteinander verwoben sind. Ausgangspunkt bilden dabei drei Fragehorizonte: Was ist ‚in Wirklichkeit Animation‘ (definitorisch)? Wie ist ‚Animation in Wirklichkeit‘ eingebettet (produktions-, distributions- und rezeptionstechnisch)? Und wie ist zugleich ‚Wirklichkeit in Animation‘ gegeben (thematisch und ästhetisch)? Illustriert werden diese Fragehorizonte mit Blick auf zwei spezifische Phänomenbereiche, einerseits so genannte Tech-Demos (Demonstrationsvideos, die z. B. neue Animationstechniken präsentieren) und andererseits Tech-Dokus (z. B. technikaffine Making-ofs zu Animationsfilmen, die deren Machart offenlegen).
