Abstract

Vehicle systems that exchange data beyond the vehicle are often discussed using the umbrella term telematic systems. Telematics is a newly coined word from the two terms telecommunications and informatics. The information exchange used for automated driving (vehicle to vehicle and vehicle to infrastructure) is usually not subsumed under telematics.

Footnotes
1
