Abstract

The advantages of limiting the maximum permissible absolute measurement error when estimating the occupancy of the spectrum are analyzed. The need to take into account the statistical relation between the states of the channel in the case of channels with a typical signal duration of greater than thousandths of the measurement interval is investigated. It is shown that the number of changes in the state of the signal being analyzed during the measurement interval rather than the occupancy itself mainly affects the reliability of the results.
