Abstract

This chapter delves into the fatigue behavior of glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) reinforced concrete beams under bending loads, addressing a critical gap in current research. The study presents the results of a GFRP-RC beam tested under a fatigue stress level of 30% of the ultimate tensile strength (UTS), surviving two million cycles without failure. Key topics include the experimental setup, fatigue life analysis, and deflection behavior. The research highlights the protective effect of concrete on GFRP rebars, the influence of stress ratio on fatigue life, and the gradual increase in deflection throughout the fatigue test. The findings contribute to the understanding of GFRP-reinforced concrete's durability and performance, offering insights into potential expansions of current code limitations.
