Abstract

The article introduces the Beta Exponential Power Series (BEPS) distribution, a new approach to modeling lifetime data that combines the Beta Exponential distribution with power series distributions. This distribution can handle various forms of failure rates, making it particularly useful in survival analysis and reliability studies. The BEPS distribution includes special cases like the Beta Exponential Poisson (BEP), Beta Exponential Geometric (BEG), Beta Exponential Logarithmic (BEL), and Beta Exponential Binomial (BEB) distributions. The authors provide mathematical treatments, including expressions for the density function and moments of order statistics, and demonstrate the application of BEPS through real data analysis. The study concludes with a comparison of BEPS with existing models, highlighting its superior fitting performance.
