Abstract

The study investigates the cardiovascular implications of COVID-19, particularly the effect on QT and QTc intervals in hospitalized patients. It highlights the prevalence of arrhythmias and the risk factors associated with QT prolongation, which can be exacerbated by medications used to treat the virus. The retrospective study conducted at Booali Sina Hospital in Qazvin, Iran, analyzed the medical records of 436 patients, focusing on electrocardiographic data. The findings indicate that deceased patients were significantly older than recovered ones and had a higher prevalence of certain arrhythmias. The use of data mining techniques to predict patient outcomes adds a novel dimension to the study, providing valuable insights into the management of COVID-19 patients.
