Abstract

The study focuses on the impact of varying friction pressures on the microstructural and mechanical properties of Ti Gr2 titanium alloy welded using the friction welding method. It explores how different pressure levels affect the joint's macrostructure, microstructure, and mechanical properties such as hardness, tensile strength, and torsion resistance. The research highlights the absence of defects like pores and irregularities in the welded joints and the formation of burrs, or flanges, due to heat and plastic deformation. Notably, the study finds that increased friction pressure leads to changes in the grain structure and hardness distribution within the weld metal and heat-affected zone. These findings contribute to a better understanding of the welding behavior of Ti Gr2 titanium alloy and provide practical guidelines for improving the quality of welded joints in various industries.
