Abstract

The article examines the effect of social media usage on climate change awareness in Latin America, focusing on eight popular platforms. It uses data from the Latinobarómetro survey to analyze the relationship between social media use and climate change acknowledgment. The study highlights the positive and negative effects of social media platforms on public perception and acceptance of climate change, providing valuable insights into how these tools can influence environmental attitudes in a region at high risk from climate change.
