Abstract

This chapter delves into the effectiveness of using high-strength geotextile in conjunction with timber piles for foundation reinforcement, focusing on theoretical analyses, practical case studies, and finite element simulations. The study investigates the behavior of timber pile systems when a compacted sand layer and high-strength geotextile are applied, demonstrating significant improvements in load distribution and settlement reduction. Key findings include a reduction in settlement by 18–34% and an increase in the stress concentration factor from 2.4 to 5.5, highlighting the enhanced load-bearing capacity of the foundation. The chapter also discusses the practical benefits of this method, particularly for projects requiring enhanced stability and reduced long-term settlement. Through static compression tests and simulations, the study provides a detailed overview of the stress distribution and settlement behavior, offering valuable insights for optimizing foundation reinforcement techniques.
