Abstract

The chapter delves into the significance of mental health among teenagers, highlighting the alarming rise in mental health problems and the associated economic burden in Malaysia. It introduces a study that investigates the effectiveness of a five-minute calisthenics exercise on depression, anxiety, and stress levels among 16-year-old students. The study employs a quasi-experimental design, using the Depression, Anxiety, Stress Scale 42 (DASS 42) to measure mental health levels before and after the intervention. The findings, analyzed using Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA), reveal significant main effects of the exercise on mental health outcomes, underscoring the potential of brief physical activities in enhancing adolescent mental well-being.
