Abstract

This paper deals with the problems of formalizing research heuristics used in the process of empirical typologization of social objects or phenomena. To solve these problems, the means of the JSM method of automated research support are used. The results of the study of helping behavior, including various forms of corporate and individual volunteering, are presented. Significant differences in some determinant factors of helping behavior are revealed. Recommendations for the social policy of companies in relation to the volunteer activities of employees are proposed.
Footnotes
1
The crucial importance of this principle for analyzing social phenomena is considered in detail in [10, pp. 102–130].

2
The book has a reputation as the “New Bible” among the specialists in applying computer tools for analyzing qualitative data.

3
Asocial is considered in our context not as violating the norms but as neglecting the rules that regulate background practices.

4
The research was carried out with the support of the National Council on Corporate Volunteering, Moscow Forum of Corporate Volunteering, as well as the Association of Managers of Russia. The organization of the field stage, collection and analysis of data, preparation of the summary analytical report were carried out by the Social Business Group Company (the head of the research is Cand. Sci. (Sociol.) I. A. Klimov [26].

5
The survey for studying the values was carried out using S.H. Schwartz’s methods adapted and validated for Russian-language samples [30, 31].

6
Asocial is a conditional marker assigned by us to the group, because the employees that formed it did not take part in the volunteering activity of the company.
