The fuel system consists of a low-pressure part and a high-pressure part. The low-pressure part includes the fuel tank, a fuel pump, the fuel filter and the low-pressure lines. The fuel filter in the low-pressure fuel system filters particles out of the fuel.
The lowest bottom limit for the injection pressure is derived from the compression pressure. The compression pressure must be overcome before any diesel can be injected into the cylinder at all. The upper limit of the injection pressure is of a rather technical nature and is constantly shifted upwards.
