Abstract

The article delves into the preparation of transparent conductive films (TCFs) using single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) supported by gemini surfactants, offering a green alternative to traditional materials like indium tin oxide (ITO). The study explores various gemini surfactants, highlighting their effectiveness in dispersing SWNTs and their impact on the electrical and optical properties of the films. Key findings include the superior performance of the gemini surfactant 12–2-12 in stabilizing SWNT dispersions, the optimal concentration for achieving stable dispersions, and the significant improvement in film conductivity after ethanol treatment. The article also discusses the environmental benefits of using gemini surfactants, which can be easily removed with ethanol, reducing the need for harmful acids. Additionally, the study provides a detailed analysis of the microstructure of SWNT films and the mechanisms behind their conductivity. The results demonstrate the potential of SWNT films as a viable alternative to ITO in various applications, offering high transparency and low sheet resistance. The article concludes with a comparison of different post-processing methods, emphasizing the eco-friendly and efficient nature of the proposed method.
