Abstract

The article delves into the critical issue of heat transfer in ultra-large beam blank continuous casting molds, which are essential for efficient and energy-saving production. It discusses the non-uniform heat transfer problems in such molds and the impact on slab quality and safety. The study introduces various water-cooling structures and their effects on heat transfer uniformity and mold lifetime. A numerical model is developed to simulate the heat transfer behavior of different mold designs, providing valuable insights into optimizing cooling systems for improved performance and longevity.
