The Impact of Manufacturing Accuracy of Selected Components on Contact Stress in the Eccentric Rolling Transmission

Abstract

The aim of this paper was to investigate the impact of manufacturing accuracy of selected components of the eccentric rolling transmission on contact stress. The transmission consists of an input shaft, on which rolling bearings are eccentrically mounted, cooperating with the active surfaces of the cam wheels mounted on the output shaft. The correct cooperation of the pairs: rolling bearing – cam wheel is determined by a number of constructional and technological factors, especially the manufacturing accuracy of components such as eccentric bushes, and in particular the retain of the nominal value of the eccentric. FEM analysis of stresses on active surfaces of cam wheels were executed depending on deviations of the eccentric. Two sets of eccentric bushes were made according to two different technologies, using conventional and CNC machine tools. The input shaft units in which the bearings were mounted on previously made eccentric bushes were then scanned. The obtained results of the analysis allowed to determine the impact of technological errors on the value of contact stresses in the transmission.
