Abstract

The chapter delves into the significance of supply chain fit, particularly the alignment of supply and demand uncertainty with supply chain responsiveness, on the performance of Portuguese companies. It discusses the concept of SC fit, its relevance in uncertain business environments, and the impact of high and low levels of uncertainty and responsiveness on business outcomes. The study, based on data from manufacturing companies, contributes to the literature by examining new characteristics of SC fit and provides practical insights for managers to improve SC design and resilience.
