Abstract

This chapter investigates the multifaceted influence of driver behavior on CO2 emissions from road vehicles, highlighting the critical role of psychological and physiological factors in safe driving. It examines how biometric technologies, such as iris recognition, can monitor drivers' cognitive and emotional states to enhance road safety. The study also explores the impact of smart driving assistants and autonomous vehicle systems on reducing traffic incidents and improving driver awareness. Furthermore, it delves into the technical aspects of vehicle maintenance and the use of advanced software like AVL Cruise for numerical analysis of combustion processes and CO2 emissions. The research underscores the significance of driver competence and adherence to technical regulations in minimizing environmental pollution. Through detailed simulations and data analysis, the chapter reveals how vehicle mass and load affect CO2 emission concentrations, offering insights into optimizing vehicle control for reduced environmental impact.
