Abstract

This study considers the influence of stream treatment on the activity if iron-pillared montmorillonite in vacuum gas oil cracking and the change in its physical-chemical characteristics. Stream treatment was demonstrated to result in a decreased specific surface area and iron and silicon content, as well as in the strengthening of the catalysts. After stream treatment, gasoline and gas yield is reduced and raw material conversion decreases. Before stream treatment, the proportion of aromatic hydrocarbons in cracking gasoline does not exceed 24.1%, while the isoparaffin content is 24,5%. After stream treatment, the aromatization of gasoline increases and the content of paraffin-naphthenic hydrocarbons decreases. The main component of cracking gases is butane-butylene fraction with a content equal to about 40% before stream treatment, which remains unchanged after processing.
