Abstract

The article delves into the critical task of evaluating the stability of rock mass surrounding underground tunnels, highlighting the challenges posed by rock mass heterogeneity. It discusses the significance of accurate heterogeneous model parameters and numerical analysis in assessing tunnel stability. The research proposes a new stability evaluation method tailored for heterogeneous tunnels, which is validated through a detailed case study. The study underscores the importance of considering the heterogeneity of rock mass to ensure the safety and sustainability of tunnel construction projects.
