Abstract

The Fenglai Daxi River Bridge, a crucial element of the Wulong-Liangjiang Expressway, spans the Daxi River in a mountainous valley with challenging terrain. The bridge's design incorporates a 580-meter steel truss deck arch with a central rise of 116 meters, addressing the significant crosswind loads through innovative structural solutions. The chapter delves into the bridge's inclination angle, span optimization, and horizontal elastic bearing constraint system, which collectively enhance stability and reduce internal forces. Additionally, the design features a lightweight composite arch abutment structure and a comprehensive wind-resistant design tailored to the unique mountainous environment. These innovations make the Fenglai Daxi River Bridge a standout example in bridge engineering, offering valuable insights for future projects in similar terrains.
