Spark-ignition engines powered by renewable CNG represent a major element of the powertrain portfolio for sustainable, CO2-neutral mobility. Therefore, Volkswagen and its partners have launched a CNG offensive aimed at significantly expanding Germany’s existing fuel station network and sustainably increasing the number of CNG vehicles on the market. The group is now presenting the new 1.5-l EA211 TGI evo, which is already prepared for bivalent operation on liquid and gaseous fuels. Among the most notable features are the engine’s high compression ratio and its efficient TGI Miller combustion cycle paired with VTG turbocharging. …
