Abstract

The chapter delves into the critical role of ergonomics in optimizing human-system interactions, focusing on the assessment of workload and fatigue in production processes. It explores various analytical techniques and models for workload management, such as Multiple Resource Theory (MRT), and highlights the importance of considering both cognitive and physical demands on workers. Additionally, it discusses fatigue assessment methods, including objective and subjective techniques, and emphasizes the significance of work-rest scheduling for maintaining worker productivity and safety. The integration of simulation tools, such as Discrete Event Simulation (DES), is highlighted as a key approach for predicting and mitigating the impacts of fatigue and workload on human performance.
