The last of the geometrical solids to be dealt with in this book is the sphere. It is in the shape of a tennis ball and any section through this solid, in which ever way it is directed, is circular. Figure 263 shows the plan, elevation and side elevation of a sphere which has been cut in two directions. The plan shows the positions of the two cuts and the two elevations show their shapes, which are circles. Figure 263
