Abstract
The mobility of yesterday and today would be inconceivable without the car. The achievements that go hand in hand with the invention of the drive motor and the design of a vehicle influence our thoughts and actions, whether in everyday life, leisure time, family planning, and/or the decision to move to the countryside or to stay in the city. With innovations, the automotive industry infused our daily lives with safety, comfort and individuality. And it still dominates the economic power of a country! Should all this be called into question? How important will the vehicle be for us tomorrow? What does the car habitat look like to us? Is there a life in the car and is that life desirable?
