This chapter delves into the thermal analysis of building insulated with PCM-based cement mortar wall panels, focusing on energy efficiency and sustainable construction. The study explores the use of phase change materials (PCMs) like capric acid impregnated in vermiculite to enhance thermal regulation and reduce energy consumption. Key topics include the preparation and testing of PCM mortar composites, the impact of vermiculite and PCM on compressive strength and thermal conductivity, and the performance analysis using COMSOL Multiphysics® software. The results demonstrate a significant reduction in thermal conductivity and improved thermal insulation properties, with a notable 5.5°C reduction in peak indoor temperatures in insulated buildings. The study concludes that integrating PCM into cement mortar offers a sustainable and economical solution for energy-efficient building construction.
