Abstract

The chapter focuses on the development and validation of a thermal resistance model for a polymeric pulsating heat pipe using polyamide. It explores the advantages of polymeric materials, such as flexibility, low cost, and low weight, making them ideal for applications with weight and space restrictions. The study models the thermal resistance in vertical orientations and compares it with experimental data, showing that even materials with low thermal conductivity can perform well in pulsating heat pipe applications. The model is validated with experimental data, demonstrating a mean absolute error of 24-30%, highlighting the potential of polymeric materials in this field.
