Three-dimensional generalized thermoelasticity based on the Lord and Shulman's theory and the Green and Lindsay's theory is analyzed by use of the state space approach and integral transform techniques(Laplace and Fourier transforms). The functionally graded material is approximated to a multi-layered medium. Each layer is homogeneous and isotropic. The surfaces are traction free and subjected to a partial heating.
