Abstract

The chapter delves into the determination of thermodynamic state functions through calorimetry and numerical integration. Project TCESM focuses on high-temperature enthalpies of solids, using curve fitting and functional forms to evaluate integrals. Project TC3LH applies the Third Law of Thermodynamics to calculate the entropy and enthalpy differences of substances from heat capacity data. The Debye model is employed for low-temperature heat capacities, and numerical integration is performed using spreadsheet tools.
