Abstract

The main aim of the paper is present how to prepare the CAD model in the context of further CAM process preparation, with the assumption of automation of technical preparation of a production process. Above this, the paper presents also the concept of building a KBE system for the automated technology design process, which ensures integration into automatically way two separate tasks: CAD tooling model preparation and CAM milling program. Presented in the paper example concerns the design process of die tooling, using for holding corrugated pipes in connectors install process. The concept of preparation of the KBE system assumed processing of engineering knowledge at three stages: acquisition, formalization, and applying. Development of such solutions can be a method for implementation of mass customization strategy in the technical office.
