The high-voltage battery housing is currently a development focus of numerous OEMs and suppliers and is often made of aluminum. A single solution for all application purposes does not seem to make sense due to differentiated requirements. However, steel can be a promising material to increase safety and reduce costs. fka and voestalpine have therefore investigated in a joint project how a technology toolkit for steel-based high-voltage battery housings should be designed. …
