Abstract

The article focuses on the development of a comprehensive nuclear system analysis code based on a two-fluid model, beginning with an isentropic approach. It discusses the importance of accurately predicting neutronics and thermal hydraulics phenomena in nuclear reactors, highlighting the critical role of two-phase flow dynamics. The authors present a novel isentropic two-fluid model with four governing equations, simplifying existing models while maintaining accuracy. The model is validated through benchmark problems such as the water faucet problem, manometer oscillation problem, and phase separation problem, showcasing its stability and precision. The study lays the groundwork for future enhancements, including the integration of energy equations and advanced heat transfer models, aiming to simulate complex nuclear reactor operating conditions and accident scenarios with high fidelity.
