Abstract

This chapter presents a comprehensive design toolkit for creating AR interfaces in close-proximity human-robot collaboration, particularly in fabrication. It leverages the Research-for-Design and Research-through-Design methodologies to address the challenges in current AR-based HRC systems. The toolkit includes a task timeline and guided questions based on the human-robot leader-follower model, enabling designers to conceptualize and prototype AR interfaces effectively. A case study demonstrates the toolkit's application in a robotic fabrication scenario, showcasing its potential to enhance safety and efficiency in human-robot interactions. The chapter concludes with a discussion on the toolkit's usability and future research directions, making it a valuable resource for professionals seeking to advance the field of AR-based human-robot collaboration.
