Abstract

The article presents a groundbreaking method called twin-shift co-existence NOMA, designed to improve the performance of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems. This innovative technique combines power domain NOMA with code domain NOMA, incorporating cyclic shifting of data and codes to enhance bit error rate (BER) performance and diversity gain. The method is particularly effective in frequency-selective fading channels, where it significantly improves the performance of edge users. The article delves into the system model, transceiver processes, and simulation results, demonstrating the superiority of the twin-shift approach over existing methods. It also discusses potential future research directions, such as extending the benefits of the twin-shift method to multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) and NOMA-beamforming (NOMA-BF) systems.
