ZF's Bike Eco System introduces a groundbreaking 48-volt drive system for e-bikes, featuring a compact mid-motor that delivers an impressive 90 Nm of torque. The core of this system is the CentriX drive unit, which utilizes a strain wave gear and external rotor design to achieve high torque density and compactness. This innovative gear technology, typically used in robotics, provides a direct feel and high transmission ratio in a small space. The system also includes advanced energy management with a lithium-ion battery and an external DC-DC converter, enhancing efficiency and reducing heat dissipation. Two versions of the drive system, CentriX 90 and CentriX 75, cater to various use cases, from urban commuter bikes to e-MTBs. The Bike Eco System is designed to be flexible and open, allowing bicycle manufacturers to integrate additional components easily. With a focus on performance, efficiency, and adaptability, this system sets a new benchmark in the e-bike industry.
