Abstract

The publication introduces a groundbreaking approach to ultra-high-definition underwater image enhancement using a dual-domain interactive transformer network. This network integrates both spatial and frequency domain information to address the challenges of color distortion and blurriness in underwater images. The proposed method outperforms traditional and deep learning-based methods by effectively capturing long-range dependencies and enhancing feature extraction patterns. The authors also present innovative modules such as Interactive Multi-Head Attention and Interactive Simple Gate Feed-Forward Network to improve the model's capability to extract and interact with dual-domain features. Experimental results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed network in enhancing underwater images, making it a promising solution for marine exploration and development.
