Abstract

This chapter delves into the internationalization intentions of Indonesian food and beverage SMEs, highlighting the low export numbers despite the significant number of SMEs in the country. It uses the Theory of Planned Behavior to analyze the attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control of SME owners, revealing the complex decision-making processes involved in international expansion. The study focuses on the food and beverage industry, which has high demand both nationally and internationally, and identifies challenges such as sanitation, food safety, and destination countries' regulations. The research aims to provide insights into the behavior and decision-making processes of SME owners, contributing to both academic literature and practical implications for stakeholders.
