Abstract

The article delves into the optimization of quantum f-divergence, a crucial measure in quantum information theory, by focusing on unitary orbits. It introduces a new approach to optimize this divergence, demonstrating that the problem reduces to optimizing the hockey-stick divergence. The authors prove that this optimization holds even for mixed unitary orbits, encompassing previous results on Umegaki divergence. The study also highlights open problems and conjectures related to the optimization of Rényi divergence, inviting further research in the field.
