Abstract

This chapter delves into the challenge of predicting high-fidelity component responses using measurements from low-fidelity components in flight tests. It introduces transfer path analysis and frequency-based substructuring as methods to bridge the gap between low and high-fidelity component responses. The pseudo-force method is employed to theoretically predict high-fidelity component responses without additional flight testing, showcasing the potential to enhance the accuracy of vibration qualification specifications. The chapter also discusses the use of a transmission simulator to mitigate coupling errors due to experimental errors in frequency response function measurements, highlighting the practical advantages of this approach in the aerospace industry.
