Autonomous parking in the car parks of the future will require not only vehicle environment sensors but also extensive validation of autonomous driving functions. A development project of the ASAP Group combines test automation with virtual validation. Machine learning is used to allow virtual cars to acquire the skills required to independently navigate and park in a virtual car park and to learn how to use the simulated sensors. Once successfully validated, the data will be transferred to real hardware - thus making the results available and applicable in reality. ...
