Abstract

Sustainable use of water resources demands a balanced approach. The water balance equation is a mathematical model for the hydrological cycle. It can be used for data concerning the Earth, the ocean, dry land, continents and countries, river basins, lakes, and any other area which is restricted by an arbitrary shape. Results of the water balance equation determine water quantity which is involved in water circulation in a certain area.
