Zusammenfassung

Die Arbeits- und Organisationspsychologie ist durch fünf verschiedene Menschenbilder geprägt anhand derer die Entwicklung und zukünftige Herausforderungen des Faches skizziert werden können. Neben dem Economic Man, der von Taylorismus und Fordismus geprägt wurde, wird der Social Man, in dem die soziale Komponente der Arbeit in den Vordergrund rückte, betrachtet. Das Thema Arbeitsmotivation mit Aspekten der Autonomie und Selbstverwirklichung tritt in der Phase des Self-actualizing Man in den Vordergrund. Beim Complex Man werden individuelle und situationsabhängige Bedürfnisse fokussiert. Aktuell befinden wir uns in einer Multioptionsgesellschaft, die u. a. durch neue Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien geprägt ist (Virtual Man).
