This study delves into the intricate relationship between the visual complexity and frequency of Amharic graphemes and their impact on grapheme identification and handwriting legibility in typically-developing children aged 7 to 9 years. The research underscores the significant influence of grapheme complexity on both orthographic learning and handwriting proficiency, with more complex graphemes posing greater challenges.
