Abstract

The article presents a novel approach for voltage correction by power factor tuning using a closed-form bus power factor tuning algorithm with non-orthogonal inverter current generation from STATCOM. It introduces phase and amplitude modulation techniques for power factor tuning and demonstrates their application in both standalone and interconnected systems. The research highlights the importance of maintaining accurate power factor values at all buses to control voltage levels and improve system efficiency. The use of particle swarm optimization for voltage correction by tuning power factors at multiple buses is also discussed, showcasing the potential of the proposed approach to enhance power system performance.
