Zusammenfassung

Der Beitrag untersucht, welchen Einfluss Angst, resultierend aus aktuellen Krisen (u. a. Klimawandel, Coronapandemie), auf die Wahlentscheidung der Bürger:innen bei der Bundestagswahl 2021 ausübt. Mit Daten der GLES-Nachwahl-Querschnittsbefragung wird belegt, dass Ängste bei den Wähler:innen vorhanden sind. Ein signifikanter Einfluss auf das Wahlverhalten kann jedoch nicht nachgewiesen werden, Ängste stärken vielmehr langfristige Parteibindungen. Die Befunde verdeutlichen, dass die Wahlentscheidung stark durch die Kandidat:innen geprägt ist, da inhaltliche Debatten kaum präsent waren.
