Zusammenfassung

Der Begriff Information stammt aus dem Lateinischen. Von der Antike bis in das 20. Jahrhundert war Information ein kaum verwendetes und unspektakuläres Wort. Zemanek belegt diese Hypothese mit dem Verweis auf ein Häufigkeitswörterbuch der deutschen Sprache aus dem Jahre 1897. Dort kommt in ca. 11 Mio. Wörten nur 55 mal das Wort Information vor.
